Urban Vision Alliance actively promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion across our organization and in our field of homelessness solutions. Our approach is rooted in collective impact by building private-public coalitions to create opportunities for a broad range of stakeholders to come together in a participatory and inclusive movement.

The numbers are clear – those experieincing homlessness are comprised of a disproportionate number of people who have systemically experienced exclusion and discrimination. We are committed to change these outcomes in our response to address street homelessness.

Advancing Equity Through our Work

UVA actively promotes diversity and inclusion in our field of homelessness solutions by building private and public-sector coalitions to house and support the homeless population that is comprised of a disproportionate number of those who have experienced exclusion and discrimination.  We understand how past policies shaped by systemic racism, sexism, and bias have led to current circumstances related to homelessness.

By investing in lifting up the homeless population, we are working to house, educate, care for, and connect people to make our communities more diverse, equitable, and stronger.  We believe everyone deserves equal access to a full, vibrant, and creative life, which is essential to a healthy and democratic society.

We also seek to partner with organizations who are intentional in designing services that are unbiased and inclusive.  We know that working in partnership is how change will take place.

As an organization committed to equity and inclusion, UVA actively:
